How we helped Messaging & Communications · Website Redesign

The Challenge

HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley provides hospice, home care and bereavement support across three counties, and their impact is felt deeply throughout the community. The next step was a website and messaging that showed people the full depth of the work their team does every day.

Leadership saw an opportunity to:

  • Describe each of their services in clear, specific language that reflects the care families receive

  • Lead with referral partners as the primary audience, then give families, volunteers and job seekers clear pathways of their own

  • Bring it all together in a modern, accessible website

What We Did

1. Defining the message

Assess

  • Led a discovery process to understand HomeCare & Hospice's core values, audiences and opportunities

  • Interviewed stakeholders and audited their existing communications

Build

  • Developed a messaging framework and communications strategy grounded in the team's day-to-day work

Equip

  • Gave leadership and staff a shared, consistent way to describe their services and their "why"

With the messaging in place, the website was the natural next step.

2. Building the website

Assess

  • Reviewed the existing site's content, accessibility and search performance

Build

  • Refined the messaging architecture and brand voice for the web

  • Designed the site's information architecture around referral partners first, with clear pathways for families, volunteers and job seekers

  • Wrote all website copy and set the design direction

  • Managed the project end to end, coordinating stakeholders and their web developer

Equip

  • Launched a modern, accessible site with accurate information and a scalable platform built to grow with the organization

What We Made Possible

HomeCare & Hospice's website now reflects the quality of care their team provides every day. Referral partners have a clear pathway to connect with the organization, and families, volunteers and job seekers can each find what they need.

We built the site on best practices for hospice and home care websites:

  • Make referring easy. Referral partners favor providers who make their jobs simpler. We designed the site around them first, with a clear, direct path to connect with the team.

  • Show what sets the organization apart. Partners want to know how a provider stands out. The new messaging describes each service in specific language that reflects the team's quality of care.

  • Give every audience a clear path. Navigation built around audiences guides families, volunteers and job seekers straight to what they need.

  • Design for every visitor. Accessible design and accurate, up-to-date information serve everyone, including people using assistive technology.

  • Plan for growth. A scalable platform lets the team add services and content as the organization grows.
